Along with the impressive win streaks accomplished by the Philadelphia Flyers, Washington Capitals, and even the Columbus Blue Jackets, the NHL has seen some other notable feats in the ongoing 2016-2017 season. With the likes of current Florida Panther’s forward Jaromir Jagr further cementing his name among the greats list by moving up to the second highest scorer in NHL history over a career that started in 1990 and is still ongoing, more players are following suit.
The 2016-17 season thus far has seen Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin and Vancouver Canucks captain Henrik Sedin reach the illustrious 1000 points mark. With the season ongoing more players are joining the 1000 club, like Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby, who is just eight points shy of the achievement.
